Our speaker this week is Amy Lankutis. Amy is director of program services for EChO. We all know something about the work they do. They run a food pantry and help people become self-sufficient, but they do so much more. Amy will enlighten us concerning all that they do.
 
 
P.J reports that the input of ticket stubs continues. Thanks, P.J. for undertaking this important, but laborious task. She reports a significant ticket sales increase.  
 
P. J. reminds us of the following:
The DDF Grant for Restoration Ranch has been approved.  Chris Nims is the champion and expects to present more information soon.
 
Doug and P.J. received an email from the Whiteclay Makers Space announcing that they have had 11 additional members train on the equipment for quilting.  Additionally they are now on the Nebraska Passport Stops which will help to generate traffic to their location in Whiteclay, NB.
 
 
There have been none of our club members reach out concerning their willingness to participate in the highway cleanup in the spring.  Is there anyone who is willing and able to participate? If this project is not appealing, we should admit it.
 
The Mentorship Program will have a meeting in April to flesh out the parameters for this worthwhile project.  In order to limit the confusion around the club dates at 5 pm meetings, we will have this meeting at a location TBD, at a time TBD.
 
P.J. is scheduling a Community Service Committee Meeting at 5 pm on April 12 to strategize the second half of the Rotary year and how the club members want to move forward with Community Service
 
Planning for the golf tournament is beginning. If you want to be involved, talk to P.J.
 
The preliminary partnership with Seniors 4 Health (Vince Ventimiglia), the Jefferson County Mental Health (mountain office) and Rotarians for Mental Health is moving forward.  More discussions are in the works in order to establish a meaningful, consistent program of activities in the mountain area to enhance the mental health of the senior population of Evergreen and other mountain communities.
 
Don’t forget to sign up for the area 8 meeting April 20th. at Mount Vernon. We will be dark on the 19th. so we can attend this event in lieu of our normal meeting. The evening will feature a buffet dinner and a cash bar starting at 5:30. The featured speaker will be Jim Halderman who will discuss Rotary’s role in world peace initiatives over the years. The event will end at 9. The cost is $30 per member. Please reserve your attendance with Rose or me. It will be a nice event and we are hoping for a good representative turnout and an evening of socializing with our fellow area 8 Rotarians.
