I know Nancy Judge will have lots of information about our community.

We will be following the new recommendation for mask wearing for Jefferson County. That means, we will keep our masks on while in the room.  I hate the mask too, but I’m willing to wear it to minimize passing on the COVID virus to someone else.

I will take the initiative of asking Mount Vernon to social distance us at dinner. We certainly can enjoy each other’s company…. Just not quite so close.
Some other COVID thoughts. First, Larry is doing well. I just talked to him, and he will be 100% soon.

If you are not vaccinated, please join the meetings via zoom until the current increase in cases lessens. Let’s error on the side of caution.

We are seeing some hype about COVID, but I looked up Jeffco and see that the latest 7-day average number of cases is 176 with only 1 death. 78.5% of the cases were of unvaccinated individuals.

Bob Z did a great job summarizing the facts, goals and operating procedures of our foundation. I know we all learned a lot.

Among the changes was the change in the foundation board make-up. The current president and current treasurer will be board members along with 3 members at large. This change, reduces the number of club board members and increases members at large. This is a better governance model.

The foundation board voted that this year’s falderal proceeds will go to the club. This will help us fund more direct community needs. According to the club Falderalian, T.J. Carney. We have made $5,600 so far with the playoffs and bowl season yet to come.

The recent loss by my Beloved Buckeyes to the evil empire is hard to accept but inspires two words…Go Hawkeyes. Congratulations to Notre Dame, Michigan State, Baylor and Oregon for fine seasons.
