Our Speaker is Lynn Bastian. Lynn has made multiple trips to Napal. Napal is a landlocked country in South Asia bordered by China. It is in the Himalayas and contains eight of the world’s highest peaks. The government system is a federal parliamentary republic; the chief of state is the president, and the head of government is the prime minister.  We are familiar with the Sherpas who are an ethnic group in Nepal. Lynn will have fascinating stories to share.

She is a Texan by birth, but a Coloradoan by choice. She is an avid outdoors person, an accomplished photographer, and an author who has traveled to 65 countries. It will be good to meet this fascinating lady.

What a difference a day makes. Rose and I sold ice melt tickets yesterday at Wal Mart. There was a brisk wind, and it was cold. Not only was the wind cold, but so were our sales. We met one homeless man and many who we saw, probably couldn’t afford tickets. I went back today and sold at the same time and at the same entrance. What a difference. Really nice people who were in a buying mood. Good sales results and a good time. It's like a good fishing hole,  Someimes they don't bite, but when they do, you keep fishing.

I may have an unusual drive to see our ticket sales soar, but I know that every time a person says yes to our sales pitch, Maren’s kids are able to enjoy another activity and their parents get a respite from the constant care that’s needed. At EChO our dollars might finance a meal for someone who needs a little help and it will supply crutches for someone who has never experienced mobility…..It’s well worth the effort.

Maren and Jaime are out of touch this week, so it’s just me….So, please volunteer for next weekend. The weather forecast is for mild temperatures.

See you Wednesday.
