Hereditary Cancer and Genetic Testing
Madeline will present on the differences between hereditary and non-hereditary cancers and how this information can impact the medical management of an individual and their family members. She will introduce the process of genetic counseling and share resources for gathering family health information.
We might have some guests as I invited some former members in our database.
I am quite concerned about selling tickets on-line. Our first e-mail blast produced nothing. It is vitally important for all of us to sell tickets. Larry said it well…. Get off our butts and sell tickets.
The following message will go out to all Chamber members on Monday:
As you know, our Barrel on the lake.... Evergreen Ice Melt provides needed funding for the Inspire special needs program and EChO. Ticket sales at King Soopers will not be possible this year and member sales will probably reflect less social contact.
We desperately want to maintain our traditional support to our charities, so we are seeking additional sponsors from individuals and Evergreen businesses.
Our sponsorships are $250, $500 and $1000, but any amount is welcome.
To become a sponsor call Trent Winegar (970) 406-1757 or e-mail us at mrrotary0@gmail.com
Support EChO and Inspire.... the need is greater than ever.

As a matter of information: In Jan.2015 an Evergreen Kiwanis volunteer worker was tragically drowned while working on the ice in a bobcat. As part of the response, EPRD intended to disallow the ice melt event. The final decree from the Denver Parks attorneys was that the event could continue, but that the barrel had to be placed on ice that was supervised by EPRD. The Denver Parks organization does control this lake, so this is their call. The area of controlled ice is where skating occurs and near the boat house.

Over the years, we have repeatedly appealed this ruling, the only consequence is that we irritate EPRD who is unable to change what they have been directed to do by their controlling organization.  Even though we are raising money for one of their programs, the bigger issue is the safety guidelines they are required to follow. So, we will probably never get the barrel Location we had prior to the accident. It comes up every year and causes some angst by members.

Now for the good news… Soon we will be getting our shots, meeting in person and getting back to normal…At our first meeting back at Mount Vernon in March…. we will have a party. Hallelujah!
We don’t know the date yet, but it’s just around the corner. Michael Lanier is coordinating this event.

I must thank P.J. for writing a user’s guide for me to use the club runner software…What a job she did.
My user’s guide is a mere 24 pages.
